Hello,

Does anyone have a policy that outlines when the institution contacts parents/emergency contacts when a student goes to the hospital? While I understand FERPA, there are times when a student is transported to the hospital or admitted and the emergency response staff needs to contact someone. Most times this is fine, but I'd like to have a written guideline of when we do so to provide clarity to the staff and students.

If you have a guideline, I would appreciate it.
